This ranges from any conceptual ideas to concrete game mechanics and content with full detailed description and conceptual models, from core features to Easter Eggs. Examples of content include whole narrative stories, puzzles, quests, combat mechanics, skills, lore, factions, political systems, AI systems, etc. Remember that you have complete creative freedom so use it to your advantage and help create the game we all dream about playing.

General Employment Statement

Voluntary Employment at Will

Unless expressly proscribed by statute or contract, your employment is “at will.”  All Sapientia Studios employees are at will, which means they may be terminated at any time and for any reason, with or without advance notice. Employees are also free to quit at any time. Any employment relationship other than at will must be set out in writing and signed by Sapientia Studios, as represented by Ricardo Irizarry.

Work Schedule

Sapientia Studios has a voluntary work schedule, meaning that each employee dictates for themselves when work will be done and for how long. Employees are expected to meet certain production goals and personal quotas within a reasonable given time frame in order to maintain employment status. As part of each employee’s “at will” status, this policy stands as a basis for termination after continuous unsatisfactory work ethic following consultation.

Communication

Sapientia Studios aims to have a global network of employees/volunteers, because of the remote nature of their participation, communication is of extreme importance and will heavily depend on social networking including but not exclusively; Facebook and/or Google+, email, and video conferencing such as Skype, Google Hangout, and/or Facebook Video. When a company website has been made live, much of company communication will be facilitated by a company email address, blog and forum. All Sapientia Studios employees/volunteers are expected to regularly check their registered form of communication as well as any medium of official communication as dictated by the company. Meetings may be arranged for progress tracking, announcements, referendums, consultations, etc. When a meeting has been scheduled, any and all employees involved are expected to be present adhering to the scheduled time. Communication between employees/volunteers is encouraged and any employee/volunteer may feel free to correspond with any member of management for consultation.

Contributor Levels & Compensation

Freelancer

Freelancer status is granted to all community contributions. A community contribution will be considered as any development contribution made by any individual independently, without access to any Sapientia Studios development resources other than those publically posted. Freelancers can be one-time or repeated contributors but must agree to a “Community Submission Agreement” which includes an Intellectual Property Rights Waiver, waiving all contributor rights to any contribution so that their contribution may be utilized. Access to project release stages is not implied as a freelancer contributor, access must be granted by Sapientia Studios.

Volunteer

Volunteer status is granted to all contributors which have signed the “Volunteer Handbook”, an Intellectual Property Rights Waiver, waiving all contributor rights to any contribution so that their contribution may be utilized, and a “Non-Disclosure Agreement” so that the contributor may access Sapientia Studios development resources at the appropriate department level. Volunteers are not subject to a work schedule and are granted access to all project release stages but as part of the “Volunteer Handbook”, each volunteer acknowledges their voluntary input as without monetary compensation.

Part-Time Employee

Part-time employment status is granted to all contributors approved by Sapientia Studios for employment after an application has been submitted. Each employee must sign an Intellectual Property Rights Waiver, waiving all contributor rights to any contribution so that their contribution may be utilized, “Non-Disclosure Agreement” so that the contributor may access Sapientia Studios development resources as necessary, and an Employee Handbook “Acknowledgement of Receipt”. Part-time employees are subject to all policies in the Employee Handbook, including being subject to a work schedule. The Employee Handbook will be considered as the “Terms of Agreement” in this case. Compensation will function as outlined in the Handbook unless otherwise expressed.

Full-Time Employee

Full-time employment status is granted to all part-employees approved by Sapientia Studios for full-time employment whom apply for a full-time position when the position becomes available. Full-time employees will be subject to higher workloads and responsibilities, as well as a more rigid work schedule. Remote-Employment is viable and valid but once Sapientia Studios has established itself to allow for these positions, employees will be encouraged to move towards the Sapientia Studios headquarters for work. Full-time employees will be granted full access to company resources as deemed appropriate as well as have many more unannounced opportunities within the company with direct access and influence over company projects. Compensation will function as outlined in the Employee Handbook unless otherwise expressed. Due to the current stage of the company, full-time employment is unavailable and will be elaborated on as soon as it is deemed viable.
